Challenge: Update an old mailing list by contacting customers who had recently traded, sold or purchased collectibles.

Solution: Call the customer at home or work to find out key contact information. Assess whether they wanted mailings and establish what their next sale or purchase might be. Bring positive or negative comments about the auction house directly to the attention of the owner. Results: By contacting only customers willing to sell or trade immediately and procuring their collections, a successful auction was held within weeks.
